WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE
St. Stephen’s Day School serves children and families of all backgrounds in a program that strives for the development of character and attitudes that will enable children to adopt a Christian approach to values and relationships. We provide a healthy, safe, nurturing environment in which each and every child feels emotionally secure. Our belief is that children “learn through play,” and we, therefore, provide a variety of experiences and exposures to create a developmentally appropriate atmosphere of learning. This environment encourages physical, emotional and mental growth that, in turn, helps children to develop confidence, creativity and an eagerness to learn.
The day school is an outreach program of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. The school began in 1985 and it currently serves children two through five years of age. The day school was one of the first schools in Georgia to be awarded the certificate of Center of Distinction and is a Georgia Quality Rated program. The day school follows the calendar of the Baldwin County School System with school beginning the first of August and ending in late May, with holiday breaks observed during the school year. A six week summer camp program is offered for currently enrolled students during June and July. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack are provided daily. Enrollment is on a first come first served basis with priority given to siblings, children of alumni, and church members. Please email the day school to add your child to the waiting list.
MEET OUR DIRECTOR
Amy Tanner
Mrs. Amy Tanner holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia College and State University. Amy has nearly 20 years of combined classroom/administrative experience and has two daughters who are day school graduates.
